Christmas with the Kings

The weekend before Christmas we headed to Hagerstown to see my side of the family. Here's me and Martin with some buckets of popcorn that came in our movie basket :-)

Everything was a lot different this year, my first year without both of my grandfathers. Its hard for all of us to understand God's plan, especially in His choosing to take Pap home when He did. We have a lot of wonderful memories, many from Christmases past. Its really been a reminder for us all that we have no guarantees about tomorrow; God wants us to live each day as if it was our last. And so this Christmas, we remembered both Pap and Opa, we missed them dearly, and we look forward even more to the day that we will be reunited.

Christmas

Our first Christmas!

We went to Hickman's tree farm in Symerna, Delaware to cut down our tree. Both of our families have enjoyed cutting a tree down instead of buying one already cut, so we were really excited that we got to do that too!

Thanks to both of our families, our first Christmas tree is filled with ornaments and looks wonderful!

We changed the furniture around a bit to fit the tree in, but we think it works great!

Welcome!

We decieded to start this blog so we can better keep in touch with friends and family since Delaware is so very far away. We'll be putting up pictures and plan for weekly updates of our activities and thoughts. If you do know us and are reading the blog to keep in touch, please comment! We'd love to hear from you!

Starting off...finding a URL for our blog proved difficult, as neither of us are super creative and then many of our first choices were unavaliable. Just for kicks, already existing blogs we tried were: nosuchthingasluck (which became the title for ours), 12parsecs (the incorrect spelling for our current name), and team dunphy (which we just rejected for its tackyness).

p.s. our Christmas tree is up and decorated, so we'll post pictures in the next few days!
