He eats like a Dunphy

Will ate his first cereal last night! It wasn't exactly his first cereal since we've needed to give him cereal in a bottle to help with the amount he spits up for awhile now. He was totally into eating though...wonder who he got that from?

Tot School

Emma is 25 months
Tot School

I have not posted about Tot School in quite some time! Emma has been doing so many new things and learning so much lately, that it has been a little more overwhelming to try and photograph and write about it all. Be sure to check out 1+1+1=1 for more information about Tot School.
Emma says pretty much everything at this point, and is putting together sentences that are often 4-6 words long. One of our big projects is starting her on Scripture memorization. We are working on Proverbs 3:5 and Philippeans 2:14. She can repeat "Trust in the Lord" and then "with all your heart" after us, and is needed less and less help with the words. We are also working on talking through the Westminster Shorter Catechism. We're still on the first question (What is the chief end of man?) and Emma will repeat the answer (To glorify God and enjoy him forever).

Emma is still a huge fan of all things music! We have music time daily, and it usually involves dancing with some Laurie Berkner. Emma has really caught on to singing the Doxology, and we love that she is learning some core beliefs of Christianity at the same time. I also like to put on something like Chicago and Emma pulls out her guitar and tries to play like Omi.

One of Emma's favorite things to do is puzzles! She got some large floor puzzles for her birthday and we do them pretty much every day. She has started being able to do them with very little help, and really enjoys pointing out different things in the puzzles.

Of course we still have a lot of book time! Emma loves sitting in her reading corner and looking through books. We also keep a number of library books on hand, and Emma's new favorite is listening to books on cd. She does a really good job following along and turning the pages at the right time.

Another favorite birthday present is the Aquadoodle. We work on writing letters and numbers. Emma loves to try to write words, and would much prefer to "write" than simply color.

We use alphabet links at stencils and color them on the Aquadoodle mat!

Emma has also been helping me in the kitchen. She loves to sit on the counter and watch me mix up bread, cut up things for soup, and in this picture, she even helped scoop potatoes into a baking dish for dinner!

This is Star Wars, we love it

I watched some Star Wars while Emma napped yesterday since I am fighting off a cold with tons of sinus pressure. And I couldn't help but watch this too...

PS...I showed Emma a little Star Wars. She was totally into all the "airplanes" and the "lion"

Fuzz

Remember when Will had the circulation cut off because of hair and fuzz wrapped around his toe? Well, it must have made a powerful impression on Emma because she is obsessed with looking for fuzz in her toes. And Will's toes.

The other day she was very diligent about hunting down offensive fuzz.

Note that her socks are off as well.

(This was not a one-time fuzz-picking of Will's feet. Just the only time I have taken photos!)

Some Pirate Love

Whenever Emma wears her ECU shirt, she insists that Will wears his too...

Thanks, Aunt Becca!
