Whose bowl?

This cracked me up...the difference between Emma's eating method for Lucky Charms and Will's method. Can you guess?

They call the marshmallows 'charms' - too cute!

Fall fun

Several weekends ago we spent a perfect fall afternoon celebrating a little friend's 3rd birthday. The tractor hayrides were a big hit!

Will was completely thrilled by the tractor! He was so enthralled that he got to ride on the tractor for the second ride.

But, he also couldn't stay away from the tractor. He messed around enough to put the tractor in gear so that it lurched forward when they turned it on!

We also enjoyed hotdogs over the fire.

As well as marshmallows for s'mores, naturally.

And a kettle for hit chocolate to end the party. So much fun!

Milburn Orchards Trip

Right at the end of October we took a trip to a relatively nearby orchard for a tour. Emma and Will learned about picking, sorting, and packaging apples.

We took a hayride (it was quite a hit).

Emma was a little nervous at first but enjoyed herself too.

Beautiful!

What a fun trip!

We also got to feed the baby goats. Both Emma and Will were great at this and showed no fear!

And they had fun playing on the tire mountain after "lunch" (apples, apple cider donuts, and apple cider)
Will and Jordan digging in the dirt.
Playing on the bouncy farm animals.
And the best group shot of our lovely little playgroup on the train!

Goodbye!
Will having fun? What fun?
Emma pulled Will in our wagon after we got our apples to the car.
Cheese!
Our apple seconds, put to good use that afternoon for...
homemade applesauce!

Such a girl

A recent conversation with Emma:
E: hey Mom, put on my birthday list that I want money.
M: Money? For what?
E: To shop. That's what I'm going to do on January 13th - go shopping for a dress and a purse.

Cinderella and Mose

We had two great opportunities for Emma and Will to use their Halloween costumes! Emma was Cinderella and Will was a firefighter (we pretended Mose from one of his favorite books, New York's Bravest).

The first was the Moms Club "trunk or treat" where they went around to everyone's car for candy!

Emma was pretty thrilled with the Cinderella costume I made for her (with help -- thanks mom!)

Yeah, pretty much thrilled!

Right after we took this picture, we tried one with Will's fireman hat on. He shook his head and the brim connected with my eye. It was a good 10 minutes before I could really get my eye open and several days with a bruised eye socket, but thankful it never got all black and blue!

We went around with our neighbors Alex and Avery (Emma decided she didn't want to be photographed anymore)
And the kids got tons of candy. I especially want to thank whichever neighbor was handing out Ghirardelli chocolates and Lindt truffles!

Throwing lessons

One of Emma and Will's favorite things to do it walk down to our nearby pond and look and the ducks and throw rocks. Usually they ask me to throw because it's quite a distance down to the water. Lately we've been doing some throwing practice for both of them, and on one particular day they really got into it!

The wind up...

The pitch!

Look at that form :)

Will has been working hard on stepping first...
but he still has more of a discus release :)
On the way back to the house we ran into our neighbor and these two walked Finn up and down the sidewalks.
Who had more fun...Emma and Will or Finn?

Babysitters

Recently we watched our friend's little girl while big brother ha a doctor appointment. Emma and Will were completely thrilled to get to "help" take care of her.

Emma wanted to sit with her the whole time.

And of course, hold her!

Will loved laying next to her, but kept taking her pacifier so that he could "put it back in"!

They did a great job...Will reading The Lorax while Emma holds her hand. Great helpers!
