Towel Kiddos

After bath is a fun time...usually everyone is acting silly and ready to have some fun. And these adorable towels make for some fun pictures!

Silly Emma!

Will is on the move (of course)

Runaway Lion! (yes! he's under there!)

There's a better look at Emma...playing peek-a-boo with Will.

Much more forward progress

Since the original "crawling" video, Will's moving skills have improved greatly. It only took about 4 days for him to figure out how to really get moving. This was a few days ago, but is much closer to reality now!

Double Trouble

Its been really fun to see how Emma and Will enjoy each other so much now. They sit and play together next to each other, and smile and giggle.

Emma dishes out tons of hugs and kisses to Will, and he gives them right back.

Music time together! Enjoying playing on their pianos.

There's Will, holding on to Emma!

Love this one. Goofy and silly Emma next to adorable smiley W

4 Years

Usually poetry doesn't do much for me. This particular poem by Anne Bradstreet grabbed me in high school, long before we ever met, and its always been my favorite.

To My Dear And Loving Husband
by Anne Bradstreet

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompetence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

Teeth

Will is quite a toothy kid. He's got three times as many teeth as Emma did at 8 months. Right now #6 is coming through the gum, and that will be the 5th tooth in 6 weeks!

Here's a look at those top teeth:

What a cutie!

The Sights and the Eats

We kept things really low key going into our trip, with no real plans. Our innkeeper gave us some suggestions, and since we know Chestertown, we stopped by a few familiar places.

We drove around a good portion of Kent County, including a road called Lovers Lane. So Martin pulled the car over and picked me some lovely lilies from the side of the road!

We enjoyed lunch at Play it Again Sam's  in Chestertown...Avocado BLT and Roast Beef and Brie sandwiches!

Dinner at Waterman's with a beer and seafood...

A few of the sights: St. Paul's church Kent, dating back to the 1600s.

 A look inside:

In Rock Hall we found this vacation home that looked like a lighthouse!

Such a great trip!

Getaway!

Today we got back from a two-night stay at The Inn at Michell House, a bed and breakfast on the Eastern Shore - an early anniversary celebration! Many thanks to Omi, Pap-Pap, and Grandma for staying with Emma and Will so that we could make the trip and have the time on our own.

The view across the pond by the Inn.

Our room was beautiful! A canopy bed, fireplace, paintings and period decor...it was great.

There was a wedding under this arbor over the weekend. The Inn is in the background.

We had amazing weather the whole time. It was perfect for sitting outside and reading.

Enjoying the hammock and time with each other!

Every 5 minutes

Will loves playing on his own now. Its great to see how well he entertains himself and is getting so much more independent. I decided to take a picture of him every 5 minutes during his play time the other day to try to capture what it looks like from our end of things.

Start: basket full of toys.

5 minutes in: basket and Will have both scooted, still a few toys inside.

10 minutes in: basket is mostly empty and a little more scooting

15 minutes in: Where's Will?

Oh there you are, Will! Book corner time!

20 minutes in: Will is tuckered out! Time for nap!

She's got great taste in music

First off, sorry this is so dark. I happened to look over and see Emma in action, so hopefully her expressions are visible enough!

Her observations about Steven Curtis Chapman:

"His guitar is orange"

"He jumps a lot"

"I want to see the airplane again" (it was the concert about the missionaries in Ecuador)

Outtakes

Sometimes Emma and Will are totally photogenic and we end up with tons of adorable pictures. And then other times...well, here's some recent outtakes!

Don't get me wrong, they're still cute...

But I'm probably not sticking any of these up on the wall!

Forward Progress

Will loves to get up on his knees and also does a great "Spider-Boy" on his toes and fingers. He just started making forward progress with an army crawl this week. Its slow going, but he loves the freedom of going where he wants! I tried to get a smile out of him at the end, but as you'll see, he was totally into his toy and could not be bothered!
