Undetected by Dee Henderson
Dee Henderson became on of my favorite authors while I was in high school. Her writing really slowed down over the last 10 years, but I was excited to see some new material coming from her, and jumped at the chance to review her new book, Undetected.
The book was solid, and I enjoyed this one much more than the last few I've read by this author. It reminded me of some of her first books I loved so much. I didn't realize until I finished the book that it was the second in a new series. (I requested the first book from the library and enjoyed it just as much as this one, if not a little bit more.)
Undetected was not as suspenseful as her O'malley series, but the book didn't drag. I kept waiting for a big twist that would through everything into a mystery panic, and as much as I would have enjoyed the book going there, I liked that I was surprised it didn't. Good characters, really interesting plot with lots of detail about submariners, sonar technology, and security.
I received a free copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for my review.
Mazes
Will absolutely loves mazes they are by far his favorite school activity, and he's incredibly good at them.
He recently finished the last 10 mazes of his book in one sitting, and this book had a suggested age of 4-6!
"Mommy take a silly picture. But don't delete it!"
His certificate from the end of the book.
