Field Trip to Summit Aviation

Last Friday we went with a bunch of friends from church on a field trip to a local airfield that is run by the State Police. Emma enjoyed it and was able to take part a lot more than we had anticipated. She really liked watching the helicopters fly by and would point at them.

We got to go inside 2 planes also. She got a little freaked out here.

This is a smaller plane, which we went inside also

She enjoyed looking around in the small plane more than the picture shows!

And then her favorite (probably all the kids favorite too) was sitting in the cockpit of a helicopter!

And trying to fly it too!

We are so glad that it has warmed up early this year after such a cold winter, and are looking forward to spending a ton of time outside this summer!

Emma---at your young age, you have done something that I have never done---sit in the seat of a helicopter. Way to go!!! Love you.

Tell Emma her great great ? Uncle Dell used to make helicopters! BA, Oma and I noticed when we were keeping Emma that one day, that she really likes sitting in the big chairs at your table, but she gets really quiet when you put her in one, like your picture shows...so cute--too bad she won't remember, but it's a great way for you to get her to learn to experience new things. Thanks to Martin for taking pictures!
