Verrrrrmont

We got home last night from a week in Vermont. The whole drive up in the car, Emma kept talking about Verrrrrmont....it was too cute! We picked the hottest week of the summer to travel; it was in the 90s going up and the 100s coming back.

It took us between 9.5 and 10 hours to make the trip each time, which is not too shabby with little kids, especially since Emma stayed dry and used the bathrooms at our stops the whole time! Emma and Will are interacting more and more every day...sometimes they hold hands in the backseat:

As we drove through New Jersey (which I'm sure has its beautiful spots...just not the road we take north!) Martin quipped, "If there's a bright center of the US, we're in the state that its farthest from". (Jersey, don't be insulted, its just a clever Star Wars parody)

Emma enjoying her invisible ink book...

And having fun with pretzels!

We enjoyed ourselves, but it is always good to get home. We are doing our best to stay cool today!

Martin, you are correct in your assumption, and Newark, NJ, is the armpit of the universe!
I love how Emma has her leg crossed in the invisible ink book! Probably the same one she had crossed in utero? I love it that she and Will have each other in the back seat. I know that helped get them up and down the road. Glad you all had a good time, and I can't wait to hear about Verrrmont from the horse's mouth! (and about "we in de boat"
Love it!

Sounds like a great trip. It's too bad the weather was so hot. Hopefully the AC in the car worked!
