"I Want Tea"

We were having our morning snack today and Emma said something to me. I didn't quite catch it; she repeated the same phrase. The third time it made sense. "I want tea."

I stared at her and she grinned. I asked her if she said she wanted tea and she flashed her smile again. "Emma say 'I want tea, please.' "

"Please."

It wasn't her first sentence, but it was the first that was such an unprompted direct expression of a specific desire. So I made tea and took some pictures. Nothing quite goes with tea out of a china teacup like goldfish.
